Elle's Studio started posting their sketch again!! I have to say their sketches are by far one of my favorite!! The designs are so easy to work with and are my style.

Winter Wonderland

Today we got our first snow of 2012! We ended up with 5 inches! Brian took the day off and took the kids sledding. They had so much fun! And I got some fun pictures!

Take Twelve Layout

Good Morning!! Today I wanted to share with you my Take Twelve layout. When I started taking my pictures in the morning, and realized I had so many taking just of the kids getting ready for school, is when I decided to document a before and after school day. The kids actually enjoyed (for once) me taking their pictures all morning.

Here is my layout: I went with my own "sketch".

I did use the journaling card on page 63 of the Take Twelve Inspiration Kit.

I love how that stripe of paper says "bus stop" and it just happen I was putting in by the bus picture.

As you can see I used some Cosmo Cricket Upcycle". I love using up paper!!

Burlap & Buttercups January Kit

This is my 2012 mini album. I used a few Hambly overlays and twine from my stash. The rest is the kit. I plan to add pictures as the year goes.

Yay I got another Sketchy Thursdays sketch done! I captured this cute picture the other night while my hubby and Hannah were snoring away on the couch. Title read "These are the Simple Thing". And as you will see I used my wonderful Hambly Studio supplies. And I must say I can't get enough of them. If you haven't tried them you must!! (Just saying ;) )

Sketchy Thursday + Hambly Studio = Cuteness

So this year one of my scrappy goals is to not only do the Sketchy Thursday layouts but to post them on time lol! I find myself doing them but then it is too late to post it. So this year I'm going to try to get at least 3 a month done on time :) And what better way to you a sketch then with my wonderful Hambly Studio supplies! I seriously just love working with their products!

This is miss Hannah eating a cupcake over New Year's. And as you can see she enjoyed it very much!!

Happy New Year's Eve! I'm super excited for a new year how about you? Well, as you all know my beloved Sweet Peach closed but as they say "when one door closes another opens" well this is so true! I was asked to join the The Paper Bakery (website goes live Jan. 2 and we saw a sneak and let me tell you it is amazing!)! So I start in January and let me just say I love this months kit! So I thought I would share some sneaks with you. I worked with this months add on kit.

A Sweet Peach Goodbye

Well, some of you might have heard but if not December is the last Sweet Peach kit. Corrie, the owner has been so amazingly awesome to work for/with! We have become such great friends and I'm thankful for that. And the team of talented girls will always be someone I call friend. I'm going to miss these kits but completely understand how overwhelming running a business can be. So I wanted to share my layouts from the Dec. Sweet Kit.

Family Picture Frame

Lately I have been loving altering items! So I had this frame I found and it needed a little more than just pictures. So I pulled out some Pink Paislee and Studio Calico Papers and some fun embellishments and created this fun little frame. It can be hung or stood up on a stand.

Here is what the frame looked like plain.

I had some cute beads I got and made a little banner out of them. I also used one of the Pink Paislee tassels I had.

Here I took the Pink Paislee wooden alphas and painted them with Crackle Paint. I also then distressed them with distressing ink.

Hambly Studio Stocking Gift Card Holder Tutorial

I so excited today is my first blog posy over at Hambly Studio I Love working with there overlays, papers, rubons, and tape!!

Today I would like to show you how to make a fun gift card holder. I made these so they could hang on my tree and when my family comes over they can go and find theirs off the tree. I really love how the Hambly overlays worked with this project.

First, you need a solid cardstock. I used both kraft and white. You also need a patterned stocking, mitten, ect. I went online and found a stocking coloring page and printed it out. Make sure you print out 2 copies. The second copy is to cut out the toe, heel, and top. And you will need a pencil to trace and scissors to cut. I also used a variety of Hambly products such as: Hambly Overlays Lattice HO837, Houndstooth HO674, Mini Brocade HO844, High Tea HO801, Falling Snowflakes HO759,
Frosty Snowflakes HO541, Grandma's Wallpaper, Houndstooth HO673, Washi Tape #2 DT102, P7901 Alphabet, P7904 Christmas, P7855 Alphabet, Sewing Rub-on R544

Next, I traced the stockings on my cardstock. Make sure to flip the second one since most cardstock has a textured side.

Then I took the toe, heel, and top and place them on the Hambly overlays and cut out my patterns. I cut out 2 of each one for the front and one for the back of the stocking.

Here is what it looks like together. I adhered the Hambly Overlays to the stocking.

Then I put the 2 pieces of stocking together and sewed around the sides. *make sure not to sew the top*

Then once your done sewing you can decorate how ever you like. Here is a picture of the finished stocking and a close up of the details. I chose to use Hambly kraft stickers, Hambly Alpha stickers, Hambly Washi Tape, Hambly Rub-on, and buttons from my stash. Also I used a black sharpie to make my "stitches" around the top, heel, and toe.

Here are 2 more stockings I made. The letters on each of the stockings are the first initial in each of my nephew and nieces names. And then I added their gift card and some candy. Also wanted to mention I just poked a hole in the back and added the twine to hang it.

I hope I have inspired you to make giving cards a little more personal.

Gratitude Mini Album

Happy Thanksgiving!! I'm so thankful for so many things that I wanted to do a Gratitude album. And this idea came from the Attitude of Gratitude which was started by Tessa Buys. The Sweet Peach Juicy kit was perfect for this. So I had a "free" day this week and work all day on it. Yes, you read right I completed this entire album in one day!!

Here are the first 2 pages: This is my hubby and kids! I'm so grateful for both and don't know what I would do with out them!

These 2 pages are about some things I'm thankful for like our health, memories, today, and laughter. And the other on is about how I'm grateful for Scrapbooking! Gotta include that ;)

The Paper Bakery Sketch

I got to play with some paper last night so I pulled out The Paper Bakery add-on from August. I love the colors teal, white and black! And she added that beautiful splash of yellow! And there is a sketch up so I used it.

This is my silly Hannah. I took here outside to get some pictures of her running around and everytime I took her picture her tongue was hanging out.

I took the yellow fabric and cut a circle out and then sewed around the circle and pulled it closed.

I used some Crate Paper alphas and Authentique words.

Hambly Design Team

I waited up last night to see if I made the Hambly Studio design team but the later it got the more I figured I didn't. So since there is a time difference I just went to bed and said a prayer. Woke up this morning early to pack my hubbies lunch and had to check right away. And my heart skipped a beat when I saw and email from Allison (Hambly Studio). So I opened it and I made the team!!! I'm beyond excited and so thankful for this opportunity.

Here are 2 of my layouts I submitted.
This one I love the picture of Hannah holding her daddy's hand.

I took some Hambly Screens and cut them into leaves. I then stitched down the middle of each one.

And here I took some Washi Tape and made a cute flower.

This is of "My Noah". That is what I like to say to him. He is so stinkin' silly!

Here I took some Hambly Screens and papers and cut out circles. I then stitched inside each one.

I had this key in my stash and just had to add it.

Today was a beautiful day here! It was warm and sunny! So I took Hannah and Noah outside to get some fresh air. Hannah loved running in her bare feet! I love living in the country and love warm Nov. air :)

Hannah had this thing today about sticking her tongue out. She normally does not have this face but today it was "her" so just about every picture has this look.

Isn't this too cute!? He found the one and only flower growing and picked it and gave it to her.

See those bib overalls...there his Dad's!! Yes, the one and only hand me down we have! They are even in good shape for being 30+ years old!

This is another layout I did using the gorgeous Sweet Peach November kit. I just love Kraft paper! I think kraft goes with just about everything. And I love how mist and paints look on it.

This my oldest Faith. She put a leaf behind her ear. I used the paint that came in the kit to splash a couple of places and then used some to box in the square pieces. And I love the Authentique piece of paper with the bingo cards all over. That is were I got the smile card.

Here is a close up of the paint with the square pieces. And I add the Studio Calico Buttons. The little words are from the Crate paper alpha sheet.

Love the little doilies from Kasier Craft. See the paint splash?

Burlap & Buttercups Sneak at November

Here is a sneak peak at what I have working on with the November kit from Burlap & Buttercups. The colors in this kit are so pretty and can be used with so many different pictures. There are paper from Authentique, MME, 7gypises, Pink Paislee, & Crate Paper. There are only 4 left so grab yours before there gone. This is a picture taken of Brian and I at a wedding. We don't get many pictures of just the two of us.

I love the Basic Grey sticker sheet that comes in the kit. It has such fun, pretty sayings.

These are the banners stickers that came on the sheet too. I stitched through them.

I want to also want to share a little tip with you. I like to use the packaging to mount my stickers on and then cut around them. It makes it easier to move them around till you get them were you want them. And it makes it easier to put the pop up dots under them.

Attitude of Gratitude Day 1-3

I have been wanting to do the Attitude of Gratitude all week so I wrote down what I wanted to do and plan to put this all in a mini album. Thanks to Tessa over at Perfectly Precious for giving us some starting points. Here are my first 3 days.

Day 1

So to begin this month of gratitude I want to say I'm so thankful for my family. I so thankful how in the past month we have be come so much closer and we are really trying to work better together as a family. And I feel a lot of that starts with our attitudes towards each other. And so that is why I feel this is important to me to stop and had a new attitude of gratitude.

So like this picture let's keep things level and not unequal.

Day 2

Yesterday I was driving home the other day from MOPS and just happen to look back at Hannah and Noah in their carseats and I caught Hannah just looking a me with these trusting eyes. It made me realize how much they trust me. Just sitting their as I drive them safely home trusting my every decision for them. It made me so thankful that I have my Father God that I can trust to hold me when I need it.

Day 3

Today was Faith and Ty's Thanksgiving lunch at school. I'm so thankful the school has continued to do this. I remember when I was their age and my mom and aunt going every year with me. It was a special time for us and I hope they will remember this time when they get older.

Sweet Peach November Sneaks

Yesterday I had some scrappy time so I pulled out the beautiful November kit from Sweet Peach! I love every little bit in this kit! The beautiful colors of paper, cool little embellishments, and that cute little yellow rose ribbon! The list could go on! The papers are Crate Paper Random, Studio Calico, Authentique and some MME. So if you haven't checked it out go HERE and see the beautiful kit!

This is my 4 blessings! I love them so much! I took them next door to get some fun fall pictures. I used a sketch from Pencil Lines. I love the "quilt" look so I machine stitched around each piece.

Love the MME bling! I layered the canvas button, flower, and chipboard button.

I used the Studio Calico rubons.

This layout is of Hannah riding her hand me down bike. It's just her size.

Love this picture of Hannah riding away. Love the little crocheted flowers and canvas buttons.

I Heart U!

Happy Friday!! Well this week we took a little girl Hannah to have a test done (Barium Swallow) at a Hershey Medical Center. We stayed over night since we are 3 hrs from the hospital and she couldn't have anything to eat or drink 4 hrs. before. The test went great! She didn't like to be held down for ALL the x-rays but she did wonderful! The test showed she has reflux so they upped her meds and we are praying they work. SO I did this layout for her!

I used all Hambly on this one.

I first cut out little hearts from the screens and some I used the washi tape and covered them and cut around them. I then machine stitched down the middle of each heart.

I then cut out a BIG heart and layered it with stripes of paper, screens, and washi tape. I made the "bow" flower by wrapping the tape around and around till I got this flower look.

Here I took a circle and made a "rolled" flower out of the washi tape.

I found this say on Pinterest. Love this!

I used the Hambly alphas and I hand stitched the heart.

And last but not least the cute little banner.

And here is a picture of my little peanut after her test. They gave her the Care Bear pillow case for being so good!

A Day Out

The other day my hubby had to go into work for 2 hrs. so we went with him (he work an hr away) and while he was at work I took the kids to our favorite ice cream place, Meyer Dairy. They make their own ice cream and still have milk in a glass bottle. I chose to use some Hambly, Pink Paislee, Lily bee, and some Prima.

Here they are together! Love the Washi tape from Hambly!

The alphas are Hambly and Sassafras. I used the Hambly stitch rubons to make it look like stitching. And the butterfly is from Prima and I misted it with Tattered Angels Mist.

I started laying the stripes of paper and it all fell together like this. I love the cute individual pictures I got of each of the kids. Don't you love Ty's blue tongue.

Matchbook Mini Album Part 2

This is my finished Matchbook Album. I love how it turned! I mainly used Hambly, Prima, & OA (alphas). You can see how to make HERE.

This is the front on the album. I used some Hambly rubons, alphas, and washi tape, October Afternoon Alphas, and Twine.

This is the first page in the album. I used a Hambly overlay, some washi tape, and rubons. Also some Prima mistables.

Next page is of Faith. I used a Hambly rubon, washi tape, and number, Prima flower and center, and OA alphas. The numbers on each page represents their age.

This is Ty. I used a Hambly paper and rubon, Studio Calico paper and rubon, Jillibean chipboard.

This is Noah. I used a Hambly overlay, tape,and rubon, OA alphas, and Lily Bee papers. I love the red!

This is Hannah. I used a Hambly Overlay, tape, and rubon, Prima flower, and OA alphas.

Matchbook Mini Album Part 1

Today I wanted to show you how to make a Matchbook Mini Album. These are great to take with you to show family and friends. Or you could make one and send it to someone as a gift.

First you want to cut your paper 4 x 10 1/2 inches.

Then you need to score it. I have it shown in the picture. There is a top and bottom. You need to score 4 inches from the top and another 1/2 inch past the 4.
Then at the bottom score it 1 inch up and then another 1/4 inch past the 1.

Then you need to pick out your paper. I chose to use some kraft cardstock, Hambly overlays, and Hambly papers. There is no limit on the number of paper you put in the album. I chose 7 pieces. Cut them 4 x 4 1/2 inches.
** You will also need to score the paper 1 inch from the bottom ** When scoring make sure you score along the 4 in side. This makes it easy to bend the papers to look through the album.

Take all the papers and down at the bottom (below the score) take your tool and poke a hole on each side for the brad.

You need to put the brads through the front flap.

Don't put the brad through the back cover.

Here it is closed and finished. All you have to do is alter it and make it your own.

I got to play with my Paper Bakery Oct. Project kit. I decided to make my look a little different. I wanted it to say "family". This way I could keep it up longer. I have to say this is my first kit from Sarah and I LOVED it! Her instructions (even thought I didn't follow them completely) were very detailed and very easy to follow!!

Look at the details! Love that white fence! And I just had to use the cute tea cups!

I love that little bingo card and those cute little clothes pins! And see the cute little tag, she included those.

Loved the Family tag!

And I chose to do the word "love" at the end.

Well the kids had off school Monday and Brian had off work so we took the kids to Balance Rock. It is a place where are rock has been balancing on a cliff forever. There is beauitiful trails and gorgeous scenery! The kids had fun climbing on rocks and playing in the creek.

Pretty Little Studio Sketch

Good Morning! I have been so busy I haven't had to scrap in a whole week. I was going through withdrawal lol! So When I saw the sketch posted over a Pretty Little Studio I knew just what I wanted to do. The other day it was just me and Hannah at home so we spent some one on one time together. We would play this little game "i get you". I would tickle her belly, toes, chin and she would laugh so hard. I realized I needed to grab some pictures. So here are some I caught.

I used some Pretty Little Studio Antique line.

I used a Pretty Little Studio bingo card and tag. The butterfly is Jillibean Soup. And the flower is from Maya Road.

I made this little banner out of the paper. And the little rub-on is Studio Calico.

I did a little handstitiching too.

Sweet Peach September Layouts

Today I wanted to share a couple more layouts I made using the Sweet Peach September kit. I just love this kit! It is full of the new American Crafts Amy Tangerine line. This has to be one of my all time favorite lines.

This is my two girls Hannah and Faith. We went to the park the other day and I snapped a few picture of them. I handstitched around the outside and the zigzag connected the 2 patterned paper.

This is a fun layout out I did of Noah. He is such a ham! He said "look at me and take my picture".

I used one of my border punches. And I cut out one of the buttons from the Jillibean paper.

Love that ribbon! Do you will see some white mist? I made that!

Sketchy Thursdays and Sweet Peach

What a fun family day we had yesterday! We had two picnics one with my family and one with Brian's family. It rained all day but was still good to get together. So how was your long weekend? Today we are having fall like weather and I wouldn't mind if it stayed.

It is still raining today so after we got home from town today I decided to work on the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays. I had this picture of Noah. It is a little blurry but I have learned to embrace imperfection. I won't get this picture back so I might as well use it. I love how he has his hands on his hips. I used Bella Blvd "Mr.Boy" and "Midterm".

I doodled on this cute tag and layered it with a sheet from the "Sophisticates" line.

I also doodled on the banner and added my own title beside it "little" Dude.

I layer some of the chipboard and doodled around them.

here is a layout I worked on Sunday evening using the Sweet Peach September kit. I have a thing for circles lately. And I love the white mist I made.

I decided to put the title on the circle. I love the those cute Jillibean stickers sayings.

Cards on Sunday

I was playing around with some leftover pieces from the September Sweet Peach kit and created these cards. I don't make cards that often but do enjoy making them when I finally sit down to make one.

For this card I used the pretty fabric flowers from Basic Grey. The stems are actually made from the pretty stripe at the bottom of on of the patterned papers from American Crafts. I love that companies started making those strips useful. And the sentiment is from a tag from Elle's Studio. And the paper is from the American Crafts Amy Tangerine line.

This card has a American Crafts and a little Jillibean Soup on it. I connected the pinkish paper with the butterflies. And the alpha is from Prima. I love those cute buttons on the Jillibean Soup paper.

First Day of School

Today is the first day of school! The kids were so excited! Ty went to Kindergarten and Faith went to 1st grade. I had a little time to scrap and couldn't resist scrapping their pictures.

I used Bella Blvd's "Midterm" line and some Elle's Studio tags. They go good together don't you think!?

Here is also another layout I worked on. I used the Elle's Studio Sketch. I won last week (doing a happy dance)! I love her stuff! And I again I used some Bella Blvd paper. I used four different lines. Don't you just love how well they all mix together!?

See the little button, that is an Elle's tag scrunched around it. I love this Bella Blvd sticker. It fits Hannah perfectly.

Elle's Studio Sketch and Bella Blvd

Happy Monday! I had a busy weekend and had a great time spending it with family. Over the weekend I got a little scrappy time. I cleaned our basement so I deserve it right?! LOL I love the new Elle's Studio Sketch so I printed off some picture and pulled out my Bella Blvd paper and got to work. I want to cherish this cute moment in Hannah's life. I managed to mix 3 different Bella Blvd paper lines on this layout, "Mr.Boy", "Midterm", and "Lovey Dovey".

The story is the other day Hannah was being really quite and I went to see why. And there she was in a corner in the living room playing with a brush. She was so fascinated with it. It was so cute she was trying to brush her hair. I ran and grabbed the camera to capture the moment.

I used one of the new "Summer Memories" Journaling tags.

And here you can see an Elle's date tag. And also a cut out from the Bella Blvd "Lovey Dovey" paper.

I took some mesh netting and a Jenni Bowlin paint and dabbed it to make the yellow dots.

Kindergarten Mini album with Bella Blvd.

The other day I took Ty to school for Kindergarten orientation. He had fun seeing his classroom, meeting his teacher, meeting new friends, and a bus ride. I wanted to do a mini album for him to remember the day. I used a Prima canvas album and all Bella Blvd. paper and embellishments. I mixed "Mr.Boy" and "Midterm" lines.

This is Ty and his teacher Mrs. Goss. She is wonderful with boys who have a little more energy then they know what to with kwim?! I cut out the apple from "Hello Beautiful" and used it as mask for the apple on the front.

Here he is putting his name on the attendance chart and the next page he is making his name plate for his spot in the class. I used Jenni Bowlin paint for the first page and Mr Huey mist for the second page. You can click on the images to see them bigger.

The next two pages is where he is getting his mail and working on his first assignment. Here I used some more mist with the Bella Blvd.

Some Scrappy Time

Yay It's Friday! Today we had kindergarten orientation for Ty. He was so excited and got a bus ride! I love his teacher she is excellent with boys who have more energy then they know what to do with. I'm working on a mini album and will share when I'm done.

The other day I spent the day scrapping with some Bella Blvd. goodies I was blessed to have won during the "Scrappy Mom" contest. I just love the colors and embellishments Stephanie designs.

This is Hannah playing "Peek a Boo". Yes, I used these pictures twice but one is for my mom's album. I mixed a little "Lovey Dovey" and "Estate Sale".

This one is for her 1st birthday. I used "Hello Beautiful".

The other day my sons were playing peek a boo with Hannah. They do "Where's the baby?" from the movie "Ice Age". Sassafras Challenge Week

Hello! I have had a fun week working on the Sassafras challenges! They posted a challenge everyday this week (except Monday)! I don't have a lot of Sassafras since my LSS doesn't sell their lines so I had to use what I had gotten in my kits. So you'll notice I have mixed a lot of their lines together. And I think they mix well.

First challenge was a journaling challenge from Megan. I took this opportunity to use the interview I did with my son back in June for his 5th Birthday.

Second Challenges was from Marcy and she want you to use your alphas some other way then in a title. I choose to use my l and i's and make them look like stitching. And also the little strip on the side; I used the o's to make a border.

Third Challenge was from Kimberly. And it was to do a layout about a "family tradition". I choose to do a layout about going to the lake we go to every year.

And the forth challenge is from Michelle and she issued a color challenge. The bottom middle photo reminded me of this picture I had of the boys running and the colors were so fun!

Hello! I have been so busy lately. How about you? I went school shopping for my 2 the other day and got a lot done! I love Kohl's!! When they say they pay you to shop they aren't kidding! I got some awesome deals! And Kohl's cash on top of that!

After we went shopping we went to a duck pond and for ice cream at a local old fashion dairy.

Elle's Studio Sketch

Happy 4th of July! I got some time to scrap today YAY! So pulled up the sketch from Elle's Studio, printed a big picture from PSE, layed out my Sweet Peach kit, and went to work.

I had fun fussy cutting and playing with foldies and using some Elle's Studio tags/flashcards. It felt so good to scrap today!

This is a picture I took yesterday of my four kids out at the Gutshall farm.

Here is a close up of the title. I put part of my title on the photo and used Elle's Studio flash cards for the other half of the title.

I took the Maya Road flowers and put on the Sassafras Foldies.

I used one of my Elle's Studio tags as a background for the stripes of paper from the Cosmo Cricket paper.

I did some hand cutting with the Webster's Pages paper and added some buttons and pearls.

I also used an Elle's Studio tag on the side of the picture.

I saw the the new GDT sketch over at Sketchy Thursdays and thought I would give it a try.
You were to use the sketch and there were 3 pictures and you were to use 2.
For the cherries I used the Red paper, for the popsicle Noah is eating a snocone, and after I started working on it I realized I was incorporating the patriotic part to with the paper that has the stars. So I got all 4 :) I also used the June Juicy kit from Sweet Peach.

Some Fun Challenges For You

Well, I have been pretty much without a computer for a week. I got a virus in mine and took it to be fixed. Well, I thought I lost ALL my pictures so I took it back to him to see if he could find them. It took lots of research and "decoding" but guess what...HE FOUND THEM!! Praise God! So I wanted to share some layouts with you.

First over at Sweet Peach I have a stitching Challenge for you. Here is my layout using the new June kit. I stitched the spray coming out of the hose.

Burlap & Buttercups First Day

Today is the day Burlap and Buttercups goes live! I'm so excited to be on their design team and working with Rachel (owner). This kit is so fun and pretty! I love all the great products that is included!
This is one of my favorites. I love the cut out the big flowers.

And layered the Crate Paper phrase stickers in the corner.

I love this die cut sheet that is included.

I just love the fabric flowers from Basic Grey that are included!

I love this sheet from Basic Grey. I used the beautiful maya mist that is included in the add on. And I just love the alphas that are in the add on.

This layout turned out a little brighter but I loved the American Crafts kraft paper that was included and wanted to have a frame look. I used one of the tags to journal on about my mom.

Happy Friday! Today I wanted to share some news with you all. I was asked to be on the Inspired 2 Scrap Design Team! Super excited to be working with Stacey (the owner) again. I was a GDT back in oct. 2010. She puts together some really great kits every other month. This month I got work with "A Bit of Sunshine" the May/June kit. The colors are so fun and verstile. I opened my Klove encouraging word of the day and with the day I had it made me smile.
Here is my (His) day:

So I have to work today, now some might not know I have "little" job delievering mail. I only work 2 days a month so in my opinon I'm really a stay at home mom. But today is the one day I have work. So I want to be out the door by 7:30am to get the kids to all the place I need to take. I pick up Hannah and realize "great she is pooped clear through her outfit" and now it is on me. So I change her then myself. Ok 7:40am not bad, we all get to the car, an old subaru that is great on gas and great for delivering mail and everyone gets buckled in and the car won't start grrr. Here is where I need to tell you that my hubby drives this every day to work. So why does God chose this to happen to me? I'm sure it was for a reason ;) So I call my hubby's pap who lives by us and he comes to give us a jump. The way the car acted I really thought it was more then just a dead battery; but I'm a girl what do I know. While we are waiting we pray (we pray every morning together not just when bad things happen). He arrives to jump my car and it starts yeah! So I start my drop offs. First to my sisters to drop off Hannah and Noah and as I was leaving there my car starts sputtering. I get it going but call my hubby at work all upset. He's no help because he is an hr way. So I go to my next stop to drop Faith off at her cousins to get on the bus and again when I try to go my car acts up. So I finally get on my way to my next stop which is my church parking lot where Ty's prek bus comes. So I drop him off and one of the other mother's is still there and I said "wait I'm going to shut my car off and see if I can restart" (she has jumper cables because her car always needs jumped (another story)). So I shut it off and it would not start so she jumped me and we go it started again. At this point the pastor(from my old church) came out and he said do you need help and I said "yes". Let make note here that there are some mornings when there is no one at church and this morning there happened to be 3 pastors! They were having a bible study and I know God sent them to me ;) They worked on my car trying to figure out the problem and we determined it was the battery or the altinater(sp?). My car actually came to a point where it would not start at all. My "old" pastor offered to take me home. So I walked over to the post office where I was to be working and helped case the mail (it's the least I could do). I walked into work sobbing and my boss doesn't know how to deal with that so he stayed away. Then when there meeting was over he came and picked me up and took me to my fil where I borrowed his car. Another thing I want to point out is; I called my insurance co to see if I had towing and I do but not on the subaru. Go figure! I was laughing about it and the girl said "you sound ok with it" and I said "what can I do being mad isn't going to get me no where". So I went and picked up the kids and now I'm home and just felt like this day was His day and wanted to share it. You shouldn't plan your days; let God plan them for you (He will anyway) ;)

I made this layout using the April Sweet Peach kit and also a sketch over at Citrus Tree Studio. I love the film strip look and loved using the whole Studio Calico rubons on one layout. I also made the scalloped pleats.

Doodle time

Good Morning! I wanted to share a layout I did using the April Sweet Kit over at Sweet Peach. I have never doodled on a layout and wanted to try it and I was really happy with the results. So I posted a challenge over at Sweet Peach's blog to doodle on your layout. Hope you'll give it a try. If you do link your layout over there to be entered to win a $10 GC.

Painted Jars

Today I want to show you how to "paint" the inside of a jar. It is really fun. You don't have to use a jar you can use a vase or any glass container. Here is mine using the April Sweet Kit from Sweet Peach.

Here are a close up of the flowers I made to put in the jar. I used craft sticks and wrapped green cardstock around them. Then I tied ribbon to them and made lollipop flowers to go on top.

First grab you glass item ( I used a mason jar) and a bottle of paint. You don’t need to use your expensive paint just a cheap bottle from Walmart will do.

Next you will dump about half the bottle of paint in.

Then you shake it all around till the whole inside is covered in paint. (Sorry not picture of shaking it) Then you dump it upside down on a paper towel or wax sheet and move it about every 5 min. This gets the extra paint out and moves the paint to the top. Shake whenever needed to fill in spots. Also if your thrify you can scrap up the extra paint in put back in the bottle. (I did ;))

YOU NEED TO LET THIS DRY A WHOLE DAY!! I didn’t and kept getting finger marks. It didn’t help my curious son decided to put his hand in too. LOL

Then you can decorate the outside of leave it plain. Here is my outside:

Freehand Scraps

Happy Monday! I'm so exctied to be the Guest Desinger over at Freehand Scraps. The owner Elaine, puts some of the best embellishments in her kits. They are fun and not always ordinary which is what I like about them. Another thing I loved about this kit is love colors! I really love "primary" colors!

Here is a layout I did using the "lucky" tag that came in the kit.

Here is another layout I did using a film srtipe look. I really love the Sassafras Lass Foldies. The are so easy!

This layout is Noah at the age of 2. I love the denim ribbon that is included in this kit and the Jillibean congurrated shapes.

This is a card I made using the corkboard heart and a gluber. I have a tutorial on their blog about this flower. Check it out.

And lastly, here is a cute charm braclett I made for my daughter. I used the wooden spools and the little charms that are4 included in the kit.

New Challenge At Sweet Peach

I'm challenging you to use 3 different ribbons on a layout. So dig out that ribbon stash and start creating :)

This is my layout using 3 ribbons and also the April Sweet Kit. This kit is so beautiful with some really fun embellishments. I also used a sketch from over at Crate Paper.

I made these flowers using a technique I learned on the Lily Bee Blog.

Secret Recipe: Live... to have FUN

Good Morning :) I worked on this fun layout last night and wanted to share a little technique using some new Glimmer Glaze. I pulled out some bits and piece I had left from my Lily Bee stash and got to work. I first laid it out and thought "it's missing something". So I got a little container out of the cupboard and drew circles. Then I used the Glimmer Glaze. The instructions are below.

Here is my finished layout. This is my 2 kids and my cousins son (safely) running after a train. We just got a friend off and they thought it would be fun to run after it so I snapped a picture.

I love the little sticker from the Domestic Bliss Line that says "Secret Recipe" and then I used the "Live..." rubon from that line too.

Then I cut out a t & o to make the word "to" and found the word "have" and used thickers for the word "Fun". So the title reads "Secret Recipe: Live... to have Fun". The black scallop border is from the packaging of the rubons.

This is a close up of the embellishment I used.

First I started by laying it all out. Then I lightly traced the circles where I wanted them.

Here is the container and Glimmer Glaze I used. The color us waterfall.

Then I took the paint brush and went arond the ledge of the container.

Then placed on the cardstock. ** make sure you erase the pencil mark first**

Here is the finished circle. I then stitched around the inside to make it pop.

Lily Bee

Ok another favorite company announced their DT and I knew as soon as I saw it I had to apply...LILY BEE!!!! Again I don't apply unless I feel I work well with their products. So this week I worked really hard on some layouts and cards(see below). I didn't get any new since it wasn't out yet and then they extended the call. So hopefully they like what I did with some older stuff. I used some Domestic Bliss and Catching Fall. I was very happy how this turned out. I really do love their colors and designs.

This Hannah experienceing the grass. She also learned to clap. The colors matched so well. Everything is Lily Bee except the ribbon and cardstock.

Faith is so happy to have a sister. Lots of distressing and hand stitching. All items are Lily Bee(except the cardstock)!

Fun Cards

Good Evening :) We had a great deal of rain/hail tonight. Crazy weather one day 70 and sunny the next 40 and cold. I'm ready for some sun!
I got out some of my Lily Bee Papers and made these 2 cards. I love the way they turned out.
This is a cute little round one. I hand stitched and made the rolled flowers. The blue flowers are cut out of paper and I layered two of them. All products are Lily Bee.

This is another one. Everything but the blue flower and fiber are Lily Bee.

Mini Album Tutorial using some Lily Bee

Today I wanted to share with you a tutorial on how to make a mini album from paper. You can use cardstock or patterned paper; it you use patterned paper make sure it is double sided. I have been playing around with some Lily Bee papers and came up with this fun project. I'm going to give mine to my gram. This would make a great present to send someone you don't get to see that often. Or a fun "brag" book for grandparents.

Here is a close up of one of the pictures.

First cut your paper 12 x 4 inches. Score paper at 3 1/2, 3 1/2, and 1 1/2.

Then cut your flaps 3 x 7 inches and fold in half.

Then adhere the flaps between the scores.

Then cut a piece 7 x 1 inches for your band that goes around it.

Last just add pictures and embellishments. The bigger/thicker the embellsihment the harder to close. So place them where they won't hit each other when closing ;)

I'm so excited to be the Guest Designer for Scarlet Lime!! I have been subbing to her kits for awhile and love them. Christy is such an awesome person to work with. She has such a fun and loving personality about her. I was thrilled to work with some new CHA stuff! I just loved the colors and embellishments of this kit. If you haven't tried Scarlet Lime before this is the kit to start with ;)

Today is March 16 (3-16) so in honour of this day Klove is making it a "national holiday" to celebrate John 3:16. I think this is an awesome idea! So spread the Word and let someone know what John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
You could change someones day just by sharing God's Word!!

Some More Jillibean Soup

Here is some Jillibean Soup "Blossom Soup". I'm trying out for their Design Team can't you tell?! We were talking over at a message board I'm on and we were saying it is best to try out for DT's you are passionate about and this is so true. Why try out if you don't like their stuff? But in this case, I LOVE their products!! I love their paper, their embellishments, and those awesome journaling sprouts! Seriously what's not to LOVE!! My LSS doesn't carry their paper so I have to admit I ordered these (now if that doen't show how passionate I am) to work with. I just love how these turned out.

Our Life

In this layout I used some more of the new Jillibean Soup "Blossom Soup". This was a fun layout I had in mind. These are just some fun pictures of my kids doing everyday things. Hannah spends her time playing with her toys, Faith loves doing gymnastic things (standing on her head), Ty and Noah love to play together, and then you have the family chilling on Sunday. I love my life and my family makes it worth every minute!

Here I used some Jeni Bowlin Paint to pop out the white letters.

Here I cut out some of the clouds and flipped them over and misted then reused them to put beside the misted clouds. I also "pen" stitched around the clouds to make them "pop".

Paper Bag Purse using Jillibean Soup

I made these cute Paper Bag Purses with the new Jillibean Soup papers and embellishments. This is the new Blossom Soup line. I just love the colors and designs of these papers. Yes, I ran out and got these as soon as they were released :) Wouldn't you?! I used these bags for my daughter's birthday party. I put candy in them for the girl's she invited. They loved them!
Here is a tutorial of how to make them. They are super easy and don't take long at all.

First you cut a paper bag 4 inches from the bottom.

Next you pick your patterned paper and cut 2 sheets 5 1/4 x 4 inches and 1 sheet 1 3/4 x 4 inches.

Next you cut a sheet of cardstock 5 1/2 x 6 1/4 and 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Then score the longer one at 2 inches.

Next adhere the patterned paper to the cardstock.

Use a hole punch to punch holes in the back of the cardstock. (for ribbon)

Pick your ribbon and and make the handles. Tape the ribbon to the cardstock. (the paper bag will hide it)

Lay your bag with the little flap up(front) and flip it over to adhere the bigger cardstock.

Make sure you line up your cardstock

And last add your velcor for the closure. And embellish with what ever you would like.
